With each new project comes
excitement, anxiousness, and the search for inspiration. We've recently been commissioned a Spanish
Revival home, a style that was born as a result of the Panama-California
Exposition which blossomed as a U.S. style movement from 1915 to 1931. It is a hybrid style, based on Renaissance
Spanish architecture, and the architecture developed during the early Spanish
colonization of North and South Americas. Specific style elements of a Spanish
Revival house include courtyards and arcades, white stucco exteriors, terracotta
roof tiles, painted tile, and ornamental iron work.
After initial conversations with the client, our projects
begin by collecting inspiration from various interior, exterior, and landscape sources
which we then translate into a design uniquely suited for
our client. We then draw simple sketches
to put our mental images to paper.
As the project progresses, we'll be posting more photos on the blog. Stay tuned!
